Auto-trol Featured in Fourth Edition of Top-selling XML Handbook

Tech Illustrator and KONFIG® CM Products Illustrate Chapter on Graphic Content Management

Charles F. Goldfarb’s XML Handbook (The XML Handbook), the leading XML resource with 100,000 copies in print, is now available in a revised and expanded Fourth Edition. The new book totals more than 1,200 pages, covering the full breadth of XML applications, tools, and technologies that are revolutionizing Web services, e-business, and software development. Auto-trol’s Tech Illustrator and KONFIG® CM (formally CENTRA 2000®)® products are featured in the book’s coverage of the integration of graphics into XML documents.

"So much has happened because of XML since the last edition, that we had to write a new book," said Dr. Goldfarb, the father of the markup language technology used in XML. "XML now affects everything, from business areas like supply chain and demand chain management to programming and Web infrastructure."

Industry experts from 34 leading XML providers and users participated, including Auto-trol and such household names as Adobe, IBM, Intel, Microsoft, Oracle, and Sun.

Kevin O'Kane, Director of Research & Development and Auto-trol's contributing expert had these comments. "The fourth edition of Charles F. Goldfarb’s XML Handbook provides a state-of-the-art survey of XML application advances, best practices, and implementations. It should be on the library shelf of all XML practitioners. We are gratified that our experience developing the Tech Illustrator and KONFIG® CM (formally CENTRA 2000®) products enabled us to contribute to such a work."

Included with the new edition of The XML Handbook are two CD-ROMs that include 175 free XML software packages, trial versions of major XML products, and a library of XML-related specifications.
