Denver, Colorado
March 12, 2001

Auto-trol Technology Corporation today announced an Open House celebration to honor the 25th anniversary of Auto-trol Technology (Canada) Ltd. (Auto-trol Canada), its wholly owned subsidiary located in Calgary, Alberta. The Open House will be held on 29 March 2001 at the 400 Club in downtown Calgary. The cocktail reception for Auto-trol customers and invited guests will also feature a presentation on a new product release for GEOSTATION®, as well as new content management enhancements to KONFIG® CM (formally CENTRA 2000®), Auto-trol's flagship collaborative product and data information management software suite. Mario Vetere, General Manager of Auto-trol Canada, will speak briefly. Howard B. Hillman, President and CEO of Auto-trol Technology Corporation will provide a keynote address.

"We have seen Auto-trol Canada grow in size and profitability over the years, and we believe 25 years serving the growing and changing information technology needs of our Canadian customers is truly something to celebrate," said Howard Hillman. "I look forward to personally meeting with longtime and new customers and sharing their thoughts about the business challenges they face, and how we can continue to work together to provide the technology solutions they will need tomorrow and well into the future."

Auto-trol Technology (Canada) Ltd., originally founded as Canadian Drafting Systems, Ltd., was established in Calgary on 25 February 1976 to provide the petroleum exploration industry with mapping technology tools. The name was changed in 1982 when Auto-trol Technology Corporation purchased a large interest in the company and began supplying them with hardware and software products. The GEOSTATION product, which incorporates Auto-trol's groundbreaking Series 5000 software graphics engine, continues to serve the mapping needs of the petroleum exploration industry and remains the leader in that marketplace. Auto-trol Canada has grown from four employees supporting one industry with one product, to 14 staff members, with more additions planned, supporting three products and customers representing aircraft manufacturing, rail transportation, telecommunications, utility distribution, municipal government, and national defense.

"Throughout my 20-year history with Auto-trol Canada, I have seen many changes in our industry and in the markets we serve," said Mario Vetere. "Auto-trol has always endeavored to provide its customers with the tools and solutions they need to be successful, and this continues to be the cornerstone of our corporate mission and philosophy. The ability to deliver GEOSTATION's GIS information to the web managed by KONFIG® CM is a prime example of how we are creating strong product synergies and delivering increased value to our customers. I am proud of the relationships we have built with our customers, and I look forward to strengthening those relationships as we continue to develop and deliver new and enhanced product offerings to the global marketplace. Our future has never looked brighter."
